Ayurveda is an ancient Indian system of medicine that has been practiced for thousands of years. Elements of Nature

DOSHAS

Ayurveda teaches us that every person is made up of the five basic elements found in the universe. The three Doshas are the energies or life forces that make up these elements, and each plays an important role in how the body functions. There are Vata (Space and Air), Pitta (Fire and Water), and Kapha (Water and Earth). Ayurveda also teaches us that when you get sick there is an imbalance of the doshas. Also, the imbalance of the specific dosha is linked to the health issue you develop.

VATA

Vata Dosha is associated with Air and Space elements, and people who have a dominant Vata Dosha tend to be creative, quick-thinking, and prone to anxiety and nervousness. It is said to be the most powerful Dosha. It controls the essential body functions from how cells divide, to breathing.

PITTA

Pitta Dosha is associated with Fire and Water elements, and people with a dominant Pitta Dosha tend to be intelligent, focused, and prone to irritability and anger. It controls the digestive system, the hormones associated to appetite.

KAPHA

Kapha Dosha is associated with Water and Earth elements, and people with Kapha Dosha as their dominant one tend to be calm, patient, and prone to lathargy and weight gain. It is responsible for supplying water to body parts, moisturizing the skin, muscl growth and stability.
